A building that keeps the light .
Ambar is the story of an office building in Hamburg that learns to keep the light. By day it stays discreet; as evening falls, it begins to glow from within. The piece gathers a whole day and distils it down to the essential.
Like the amber it is named after, the film ends at its most luminous moment, with no farewell. The challenge was rhythm: telling the passage of a full day in a short piece, so that the final glow would feel earned and not merely shown.
