The project
A church now savoured .
The Jane occupies a former military chapel in Antwerp — a brutalist space of impossible ceilings where Nick Bril turned fine dining into an almost liturgical experience. Our commission was to visualise that place before having it in front of us: images and a film that conveyed the blend of the sacred and the gastronomic, without either one taking the other’s space.
The challenge lived in the modelling. Rebuilding a church in 3D — its proportions, its stained glass, the way light falls from above — means treating the file as we would treat an architectural drawing: understanding the structure before setting the camera. The result preserves what makes The Jane singular: the sense that dining there is also entering a space that remembers what it was built for.
